MANILA, PHILIPPINES  The visionary creative behind Facebook Safety Check and user experience design lead for Google Assistant, Carla Echevarria is the master of balancing advancement and society in design. Her works have made a mark towards enhancing user experience, challenging the bounds of what a creative can do.

Before moving to the United States to be the Executive Creative Director for R\GA, Echevarria spent her formative years in Manila. After her stint in R\GA, she became a Creative Director at Google and eventually took the Design Lead in Facebook. With the development of the Facebook Safety Check in 2014, she was able to solve post-tragedy failure for Facebook users.

With the push of a button, the Facebook feature was able to help communities in disasters and calamities. It spared families of disaster-struck Facebook users from anxiety brought by the incidents.
