MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Branding and graphic design studio And A Half launched an online information hub on March 25, 2020, collating initiatives from various organizations in the Philippines to help sectors of society that are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Working with the Help From Home Volunteer Group as the official Design Partner of this project, the studio spearheaded the creative process, including the executions on web design, illustration, and copy.
“Help From Home”, as the name suggests, encourages Filipinos who are able to stay at home and away from the virus to support those who cannot afford the same luxury: medical frontliners, families of daily wage earners, and the homeless. The website acts as a one-stop shop for concerned individuals looking for ways to help out, with a rich listing of organizations they can donate to.
The website and the initiative’s communications are visually attention-grabbing, as a mix of orange, yellow, and red are consistently used throughout its assets. The illustrations designed to represent each cause also made use of these hues, with straightforward depictions of what products or services are included in each donation.
The landing page is also catalogued by beneficiary, and then purpose — highlighted in the illustrations alongside it. Each tab opens to a roster of citizen-led initiatives addressing a certain need that the donor can choose which he/she would want to help out on:
- For our frontliners:
- Equip our frontliners
- Feed our frontliners
- Move our frontlineres
- Fund more COVID-19 tests
- Equip our frontliners
- For our families at risk:
- Feed our families at risk
- Protect our families at risk
The Help From Home COVID-19 Volunteer Group also makes sure to partner with the organizations included in the listings to ensure that only accurate and verified information are shared. That includes the contact details, social media pages, and account details, of each one. Moreover, the page is also regularly updated on which cities and hospitals are in need of urgent help from the public.
