Digital: IMMAP Moves to Strengthen Philippine Commerce with the Founding of the Digital Commerce Committee

The Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines (IMMAP) once again marked a milestone with the launch of the Digital Commerce Committee during its 6th GMM of 2019. The group composed of Chay Mondejar-Saputil, Client Partner at Facebook Philippines and the Chair of the newly-formed committee; Digs Dimagiba, Chief Marketing Officer, Metrobank; and Gara Santos-Ontiveros, Industry Head for CPG, Google Philippines will spearhead IMMAP’s efforts in helping grow the digital commerce industry in the country.

The Digital Commerce Committee (D-COM) recognizes the potential of the Philippines to become a strong online commerce market. At its core, the D-COM aims to bridge the knowledge gap among businesses and drive digital marketing excellence in the field of digital commerce in the country.

To meet its mission, the D-COM has the following as its goals:

– Engage key players in the Digital Commerce Ecosystem (Advertisers, Retailers, Platforms, Enablers) to be active players in the D-COM.

– Drive awareness and interest within the industry on the opportunities for businesses to engage in Digital Commerce.

– Provide guidance and thought leadership for businesses on how they can fully maximise the opportunities from digital commerce

– Enable businesses to easily engage in digital commerce by curating potential digital commerce platforms and enablers

The young committee has big ambitions for the industry and is planning to accomplish several key activities for the rest of the year including a specialized digital commerce track during this year’s DigiCon.

Finally, IMMAP and the D-Comm founders invited digital commerce practitioners to become part of the group who will dedicate themselves to shaping the future of the industry in the Philippines.
