MANILA – Stories that give a glimpse into the characters’ continuing journey leave an impact with Filipinos. This is what we saw with McDonald’s two online videos “Kaya Niya, Kaya Mo” and “The Boy Who Loves To Study” which made it to the Top 10 videos in the YouTube Ads Leaderboard for the first half of 2017.
“Kaya Niya, Kaya Mo” ranked second on the list. It is the sequel to the “Tuloy Pa Rin” online video which earned the 3rd place in 2016’s YouTube Ads Leaderboard. The sequel tells the next chapter for two former sweethearts played by Elisse Joson and Tony Labrusca who have happily moved on from their past. This reminds millennials (and netizens too) that whatever changes life throws, kaya mo at tuloy pa rin especially with a Burger McDo or Crispy Chicken Fillet Sandwich.
Another McDonald’s video, “The Boy Who Loves to Study” took the 6th spot. It captures the heartwarming reunion between Daniel Cabrera—whose photo studying by the light of a nearby McDonald’s was posted by Joyce Torrefranca and went viral.
“We’d like to thank Google Philippines for this recognition and of course to netizens for the warm reception of our online videos. We are happy that a lot of Filipinos view them and can relate to the stories we tell. This recognition definitely keeps us inspired to be consistent and creative in producing quality content,” says Christina Lao, McDonald’s PH Marketing Director.
McDonald’s has been consistently on YouTube Ads Leaderboard, a ranking that showcases the most creative ads that people choose to watch each month. Other videos recognized were “Brilliant Machine Delivers Hot Meal…And More!” and “Papa Na Kita #ALDUBKoTo” as Top 1 in 2015.
