DM9-Di9it taps Singapore-based JR Ignacio as Chief Technologist

MANILA — With more than 12 years of experience in digital, 8 of which were honed in Singapore, JR Ignacio joins DM9-Di9it as their new Chief Technologist. In his new role Ignacio will be leading the newly formed project management and technology group of the agency.

JR is not a stranger to the agency world as he started his career in OgilvyOne Manila developing websites for leading brands such as Nokia, Nestle, and Gillette. He then moved to Singapore to join BBDO Proximity working on campaigns for Singtel, Pepsi, Visa, and Citibank. He eventually joined the digital shop Interuptive as their lead Technologist where he spearheaded the shift to “mobile-first”. His work in the mobile field yielded awards from W3, Mob-Ex, and The Communicator.

“JR will be a tremendous help in making our creative digital ideas come alive! He brings an immense wealth of experience in technology and innovation from his impressive stint in Interuptive and BBDO Proximity Singapore,” shared Merlee Jayme, Chief Creative Officer and Chairmom of DM9 JaymeSyfu and DM9-Di9it.

Commenting on his appointment, Ignacio laid out his vision for his group in the agency.

“Beyond timely and on-spec production and execution, my goal is to empower our technologists and developers to play a key role in ideation. The initial focus is definitely to smoothen out production but eventually we want to be the third piece in the ideation trifecta: art, copy, and code.”
