Written by Burnett creative Gary Dawson and directed by Plaza’s Nick Robertson,   the spot brings to life the essence of Earth Hour — an event everyone can participate in. It’s whimsical and engaging way to bring to life the message that ‘None of us are as powerful as all of us’.

Leo Burnett Creative Gary Dawson said ‘From start to finish, this ad was created in the spirit of Earth Hour and it was inspiring to see so many people come together for the good of the cause.

Plaza’s Director, Nick Robertson said, “It was great collaborating with Gary, Andy and Jay, and to be offered the opportunity to work on something as magnificent as Earth Hour was an absolute privilege, to shoot the spot with close family and friends was brilliant. I am thrilled with the film.”

Leo Burnett’s Andy DiLallo and Jay Benjamin said “It’s easy for people to be overwhelmed by the subject of climate change. The aim of this script was to turn that on its head. It gives them comfort that they aren’t in it alone. And let’s face it, we’re after 1 Billion people this year, so no one’s really in it alone. It’s a beautiful film that will be a tremendous addition to WWF’s case at the Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen.”

And for all of us who find our music in commercials, here’s the info on that tune in in the background, courtesy of Leo Burnett Sydney:

Everybody’s Singing this Song‘ is the hugely contagious new anthem for this year’s Earth Hour. The track was especially written and composed for a new film/viral that breaks today, and will be available via WWF to the general public soon as a free download.  Written by Elliot Wheeler from the Myrtle Street Connection, ‘Everybody’s Singing this Song’ features guest vocals from Steve Smyth, Caitlin Park, as well as the gang from Aim. Recorded late into the night at Turning Studios, Chippendale. And in the spirit of Earth Hour, all involved gave up their time, fees and undoubted talent for the good of the cause.”
