Popular TV presenter and producer Daphne Paez is to host a special BBC Earth branded block on Cignal’s One News Channel from Saturday, 7 September 2019, showcasing some of the work of the world’s foremost factual filmmakers.
The block will give Cignal’s viewers a taste of the premium natural history and factual programmes carried on the BBC Earth channel available to the platform’s subscribers.
The block will screen three times a week, premiering one hour of BBC Earth programming each Saturday evening from 8-9pm, with replays on Sunday afternoons (4-5pm) and Tuesday evenings (7-8pm). The first show to be screened in the slot will be Mediterranean with Simon Reeve, which sees the charismatic journalist embark on a four-part adventure around the region, discovering the extremes that lie beneath the picture-postcard tourist veneer.
Other programmes that viewers can look forward to include: World’s Busiest Cities, giving viewers an inside look at some of the most crowded and chaotic cities on earth; Joanna Lumley’s Japan, which traces the Absolutely Fabulous star’s journey as she travels from the icy Siberian seas of the north to the subtropical islands of the south; and Without Limits – Vietnam, which follows six people with different physical abilities as they embark on an ambitious and emotional adventure of a lifetime through the diverse landscapes of Vietnam.
