MANILA, PHILIPPINES– The first Philippine International Comics Online Festival (PICOF) is set to unite creatives and creators. Throughout all weekends of September, the festival will gather creators and professionals in online webinars and workshops.
The festival will cover everything from Philippine Komiks History to content creation. From workshops on character design, paneling, cover art, to pitching to publishers and talking to talent scouts. There will also be a panel discussion on the state of comics is Southeast Asia, and meet and greet with the creators of Trese: Kajo Baldisimo and Budjette Tan.
The schedule of the festival is as follows:
- September 5 & 6 : Filipino Komiks and Comic Book Creation
- September 12 & 13 : Original Content Creation
- September 19 & 20 : Page to Screen Adaptation
- September 26 & 27 : World Comics (Creators, Publishers; Festivals)
Tickets for the webinar cost P500 per class (P350 for students) and P1,500 for each workshop (P1,200 for students)
