London – Add auto design to its many functions. Social media Facebook emerges the new medium for Audi to create a new model, reports Revolution magazine.
As part of a competition at the Los Angeles Auto Show, Audi asked its 300-thousand Facebook fans what functionality and features they wanted on a new vehicle in 2030. The Auto Show issued a challenge for car manufacturers to design a car for the young market.
Videos of real Audi designers with their design philosophies and design wishlists encourage fans to take part in the design challenge. Discussions, specific issues and questions are solicited through feedback, addressing the topic: ‘How will your car play a role in keeping you connected to your digital world in the future?’
The contest helps fans of the vehicle understand and engage with the passion of the brand’s design team. "We wanted to show our Facebook fans that we’re committed to creating automobiles that fit our changing lifestyles; and having this conversation with them is a critical part of that process," says Brad Stertz, spokesman for Audi of America, in the same report.
