FCB Manila enters 2015 flying high by winning the advertising account of Philippine Airlines, the country’s flag carrier and Asia’s first airline, in a three-way pitch against DDB and Ace Saatchi & Saatchi.
The Philippine Airlines pitch is possibly one of the most coveted victories the agency has seen in the past three years. WOO Consultants is currently the agency handling PAL’s account.
When asked what the team’s secret formula was for bagging this huge win, FCB Manila Chief Creative Officer James Bernardo said that “It’s really no big secret or grand strategy that won us the pitch. I think coming in with a fully-integrated proposal that could work on any relevant channel for the brand coupled with some fresh and brave ideas was the key.”
FCB Manila will support Philippine Airlines as it enters its 74th year with new routes across the world and a new direction for the brand.
The acquisition of Philippine Airline’s ad and branding campaign promises to further bolster the strength of FCB Manila in showcasing truly integrated and creative solutions to its existing and future set of clients.
“For 2015, FCB will continue to move forward together despite some challenges we encountered last year. That’s the plan,” added Bernardo.
FCB Manila handles brands for major Philippine and multinational corporations, such as SMART Communications, PLDT, the SM Group, Asia Brewery, Inc., Dole Philippines, Mondelez, and Nivea.
