MANILA – Some spaces in a place can serve to encourage artistic experimentations and practices. Their development could eventually lead to the adaptation of interests, means, and needs of the people occupying the space, as well as the whole environment.
Catch Arts Serrano as he talks about some projects of the studio that focus on experimental spaces in Escolta that hope to jumpstart a regenerative quality to downtown Manila in his talk “Old Soul, New Ideas” at the adobo Design Series 2018 on the 22nd of March 2018 at The Mind Museum.
Serrano is the founder of One Zero Design Co.—an architecture studio based in Escolta with a particular interest in creating designs that connect to a relevant context—may it be about the natural setting, heritage and history or the people it should serve.
The studio, under Serrano’s leadership, has gone on to bag awards in other contests, such as the Metrobank Art and Design Excellence 2015, the Clark Green City Conceptual Master Plan competition, and the Mixed-Income Housing competition by the BCDA Group with PAG-IBIG.
The adobo Design Series 2018 is co-presented by Jollibee and works in partnership with these prestigious institutions: Design Center of the Philippines, Communication Design Association of the Philippines, Animation Council of the Philippines, Game Developers Association of the Philippines, with the support of the British Council Philippines. The event official Registration Partner is TVCXpress Manila.
