Be a part of a charitable cause by bidding on an artwork created for adobo magazine.
Starting today, adobo magazine launches its silent auction benefitting ChildHope Philippines.
Gabie Osorio, an art director from Lowe, created the whimsical cover art for our November-December 2015 issue, titled “Gears for Good” – featuring a soft sculpture creature named “Geer”. Osorio donated the artwork for the auction which starts today and ends on December 15, 2015 (see auction mechanics below). ChildHope Philippines has been named the beneficiary of the auction–the NGO being an advocate of education on the streets for indigent children.
Geer for Good
by Gabie Osorio
12 x 12 inches, with super poseable soft sculpture with copper wire frame inside
Created by soft sculpture artist Gabie Osorio (who is also an art director at Lowe) for the November-December 2015 issue of adobo magazine, “Geer” was the visual representation for the issue’s theme: “doing good”. The ideas behind her piece revolved around how good is patched together, the gears symbolizing how everyone is part of the positive process, contributing in big or small ways, with connections that are visible (or not) to us all. Using upcycled materials, Osorio also used stitch-work to bring out the softness of the piece in contrast to the cogs, connected by belts that keep the “goodness gears” running.
