MANILA – GMA International has just introduced the now Pinoy TV app, its first over-the-top service to allow viewers in Hong Kong easy access to GMA Pinoy TV through their mobile phones.
Launched last month, it was created in partnership with now TV, the largest pay-TV operator in Hong Kong. Users who download the app can catch GMA’s top-notch entertainment and news and public affairs programs on GMA’s flagship international channel, GMA Pinoy TV.
The app also has a catch-up function, providing 16 hours of video-on-demand each month for those who have missed an episode of their favorite GMA programs. now TV carries GMA Pinoy TV, along with GMA Life TV and GMA News TV International, in Hong Kong.
GMA Pinoy TV has a potential audience based of over 200,000 Filipinos who reside in Hong Kong, based on a statement from GMA First Vice President and Head of International Operations Joseph Francia. Meanwhile, now TV boasts 190 top-class channels to over 1.2 million customers.
The now Pinoy TV app is now available for download on Google Play Store for Android users, while iOS users can download the app through the Apple App store. “We are continuously innovating ways to reach our diverse Kapuso audiences abroad and expanding our services in the face of ever-changing consumer preferences,” Francia adds.
