MANILA – Google joins the Philippines in celebrating its 117th year of independence with a special doodle on the Google.com.ph homepage.
This is the sixth Independence Day doodle to be featured on the homepage, featuring the most recognizable symbol of national identity – the Philippine flag. With the sun and three stars standing for one “O” of the company’s logo, the letters also make use of the colors of the flag.
Google Doodles are decorative changes made to the Google logo to celebrate holidays, anniversaries, and the lives of famous artists, scientists, and leaders either by ilustration or interactive execution. Here’s a link to thousands of doodles made so far.
In addition to entertain, clicking on the doodle will lead visitors to more information about about the theme for that day – which in today’s case is about the history of Philippine independence.
