MANILA – After over 17 years of partnership with global network Havas, the Agatep brand goes back to its roots as an independent, fully-integrated marketing communications (IMC) agency. Now called Grupo Agatep, the rebrand is the shop’s response to the rapidly-changing Philippine marketing landscape.
Started in 1989 by its founder and PR guru, Charlie Agatep, Agatep Associates, Inc. became a major force in both public relations and advertising. A perennial winner at annual award shows, like the Anvil, for close to a decade, the company later joined forces with multinational advertising heavyweight Euro RSCG and established Euro RSCG Partnership Philippines in 1998, which was rebranded as Havas Worldwide Manila in 2012. Today, this tradition of unwavering excellence and passion goes by the name Grupo Agatep.
“Grupo Agatep provides unique solutions to build, enhance and protect corporate and brand reputations. With our over 27 years of operating experience, we craft compelling stories for traditional and digital media platforms, and devise communications strategies to sell ideas, products and services,” said Norman A. Agatep, Grupo Agatep president and managing director.
Agatep is also the chairman of the Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies of the Philippines (4As), and immediate past president of the Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines (IMMAP).
Grupo Agatep also won eight metals at this year’s Anvil Awards – three Golds, three Silvers, one Platinum and a special award. Among the Anvil award-winning campaigns are: UnionBank’s Lumina Pandit, a heritage preservation project that aims to restore, preserve and digitize the heritage collection of UST’s Miguel de Benavides Library and University Archives, and Stop the Scammers campaign, which featured the bank’s commitment to protect its customers through its continued efforts to educate the public about online fraud, ATM skimming and phishing; Tsuneishi Heavy Industries’ (THI) The Rise of Balamban, Cebu, a program on how THI transformed Balamban into a progressive first-class municipality; New Marketlink’s The 100 Best Philippine Medicinal Plants, an exhaustive handbook about the country’s beneficial plants and their curative properties; Emirates Air’s The A380 Comes to Town, an event about the one-off commercial flight to Manila of the world’s largest passenger plane.
The agency’s account management and creative teams remain intact and core competencies continue to be reputation management (with special focus on crisis and issues), creative advertising development, marketing services, media training, media buying and activations – all under one roof – to give clients a one-stop shop convenience.
