MANILA – Havas Media Ortega (HVMO) was the agency behind the successful launch of Kopiko 78, a new coffee drink from Kopiko.
HVMO has been working with Kopiko for several campaigns since being assigned as its media agency of record early this year.
This time, Tonypet Sarmiento, Managing Partner and Chief Collaborator at HVMO, explains that the coffee brand wanted to build excitement for the brand through a tactical teaser campaign without taking away from the existing thematic TVC.
“The biggest challenge for Kopiko was that they had an existing TVC material.” Sarmiento admits. “It’s always interesting how we can push the envelope and even still add to and complement the existing material.”
Celebrity Solenn Heusaff kicked off the teaser campaign which spawned themed promotions with other brand ambassadors like Paulo Avelino. The latest updates on the campaign can be followed on www.facebook.com/KopikoPhilippines.
This account is led by Yeyet de Leon, HVMO’s client service director, with Rosahlee Bautista, business director for trading and specialities, and Rone Crisostomo.
From the creative front, James Bernardo, HVMO’s executive creative director is teamed with PJ de Jesus and Patrick Barba. Bernardo said, “It was definitely fun creating a disruptive idea for a brand in an already noisy and cluttered beverage market. I personally loved the fact that the client was the one who posed the challenge to us.”
“We knew it isn’t always easy to marry regional work with local flavor. But we’re really excited for the brand and our plans for it. The next steps for the campaign will leverage on Kopiko 78’s unique taste experience and we’re optimistic about the future,” Mike Tandas, Kopiko’s Marketing Manager.
