Havas Media Ortega wins MYX interagency music contest

MANILA – Havas Media Ortega representatives dominated the stage in the interagency music contest MYX Mo! Agency Search for the Opening Act. 

Music channel MYX Philippines is hosting MYX Mo!”, an annual celebration of Original Pinoy Music (OPM) that features a line-up of the best local artists in the Philippine music scene.

To prepare for this year’s line-up, MYX Philippines sponsored the MYX Mo! Agency Search for the Opening Act event, which was held at the 12 Monkeys Music Hall & Pub in Makati.

Representatives from HVMO swept the competition in both the Solo and Band categories.

HVMO’s Michan Saubon won the Solo category with her rendition of the Britney Spears’ hit single “Baby One More Time.” Her performance won her the main prize of P30,000 that will go to the Yolanda Project, a benefit for the victims of typhoon Yolanda.

At the same time, the agency’s the Meaningful Band, comprising of Michael Arcilla, Dave Buenviaje, TJ Cafuir, Racine Castro, Larry Cayco, Migi De Belen, Rommell Garcia, Claudine Rodriguez and Tin Yumul, won the grand prize of P50,000 with their performance of an original song entitled “Closer than Ever (This Time)” written by De Belen. 

HVMO bested some of the biggest advertising and media agencies in the country such as Universal McCann Philippines, Starcom Mediavest Group Philippines, OMD Philippines and Zenith Optimedia. 

Aside from the cash prizes, the winners garnered a spot to perform in this year’s MYX Mo! event. 

Saubon and the Meaningful Band are set to perform at the Big Dome as the opening acts for MYX Mo! 2014. The event will be held on November 11, 2014 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
