SINGAPORE—The APEC 2015 CEO Summit logo brought home the Bronze Award for Design last September 23 at the awarding ceremony of the Spikes Asia in Singapore, the culmination of the Festival of Creativity.

The winning team was composed of Bixie Reyes, Head of Design; PJ De Jesus, Associate Creative Director; Sugar Perez and Kara Alfonso, Designers; Janlo Cui, Business Director; and Jos Ortega, Chairman and CEO.

Unique to the project was the use of data, as the team was able to integrate relevant information with the summit’s theme: inclusive growth. Dubbed the “Living Logo,” fifteen striking data points, such as each APEC member economy’s GDP per capita, land area, population and foreign investment were used, highlighting the logo’s flexibility and dynamism. The logo’s circular design also stood for connectivity and unity, echoing the spirit of cooperation and community that APEC strives to achieve among its participants. This approach reinforced the event’s mission: “Creating the Future: Better. Stronger. Together.” The Living Logo was the perfect visual representation of the event and was mirrored in all collaterals related to the important gathering of world leaders.

Among APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation)’s goals and objectives are sustained growth and development of the region for the common good and to foster openness among the countries in the Asia-Pacific region for their mutual benefit.

Ortega, who was present at the ceremony, said that the award is a “confirmation of the brilliant collaborative spirit that is prevalent in the Havas Village. Kudos goes to the team beside the Living Logo that was able to accurately and seamlessly marry function and form to come out with a very purposive execution.”
