PASAY CITY – The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Philippines has conferred three awards on Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) during the 16th Philippine Quill Awards for its exemplary communication projects.

BPI received the Award of Excellence for its 2017 Annual Report, the Award of Merit for its “Promoting Financial Inclusion” institutional campaign, and the Award of Merit for BPI BanKO’s “Reaching Out to the Underserved Self-Employed Micro-Entrepreneurs” campaign.

The BPI 2017 Annual Report showed how BPI redefined frontiers of what is possible for Filipinos through banking, and the tailor-fit financial advice and solutions the Bank because of its deep understanding of the clients’ needs.

The institutional campaign for “Promoting Financial Inclusion” sought to make more Filipinos aware of how banks can help them with their life decisions, and how this can help promote financial inclusion in the country. In this campaign, BPI demonstrated that it is a source of “Trusted Advice” that clients can rely on.

BPI BanKo’s “Reaching Out to the Underserved Self-Employed Micro-Entrepreneurs” campaign spread the word about how the bank delivers financial solutions to the underserved self-employed micro-entrepreneurs (SEMEs) through its microfinance loan products. BanKo was able to demonstrate this through stories of SEME clients whose lives were changed.

Kane Choa, Chairman of IABC Philippines, said the winners of the Awards this year have exhibited the theme for this year’s Awards, which is “Purpose in Communication.”

“The companies, agencies, and clients we are paying tribute to tonight are our partners in pushing for ‘Purpose in Communication’, helping pave the way for the truth to come out and to shape our world for the better. Through their programs and campaigns, they have expressed the truth and created purpose in communication, influencing and creating a long-lasting impact that will benefit the future generations,” he said.

BPI Head of Corporate Affairs and Communications Owen Cammayo said BPI continues to communicate with purpose just as the company conducts its business with purpose.

“BPI has always aimed for financial inclusion, for all Filipinos to have access to financial services that can help improve their lives and ultimately contribute to our economic growth. We strive to support this business goal by ensuring that we are able to communicate clearly these purpose-driven campaigns to our key stakeholders,” said Cammayo.

IABC Philippines is the local chapter of IABC, a global network of communication professionals committed to improving organizational effectiveness through strategic communication.
