MANILA — After more than two years as CEO, Melissa Crucillo has decided to leave the agency to pursue other interests. Under her leadership, J. Walter Thompson Manila acquired new local clients such as Globe and won the Philippines’ second Gold Cannes Lions with the iconic “portraits” campaign for Schick Razors.

Golda Roldan, who has served as the agency’s Director of Client Services for two years, will assume the role of General Manager, taking on leadership for the agency. Roldan, who has worked at J. Walter Thompson, BBDO, TBWA and Leo Burnett, has managed a comprehensive array of multinational and local accounts during her 20 years in the industry.

In her new role, Golda will work closely with Executive Creative Director, Dave Ferrer, Head of Planning, Pam Garcia and Finance Director Jeff Sulit on the further growth, diversification and reputation of J. Walter Thompson in Manila.

Golda will report to J. Walter Thompson Southeast Asia CEO Bob Hekkelman, who is based in Bangkok and worked in Manila as agency head for several years.

“I would like to thank Melissa for all she’s done in the last two-and-a-half-years. The agency is bigger and better when she took over. She brought Golda back home and under the stewardship, Golda has matured to a leader who understands our business, has excellent relationships with all our clients and is an active member of the local advertising community,” says Hekkelman.
