MANILA – Jabez Infinity Group, Inc. has launched its universal loyalty card, Zing Rewards, with the aim to revolutionize how businesses reward their customers.

“Many years back we saw that there is already a need for merchants to keep customers, and that’s where loyalty programs started,” Jabez president and CEO Ed Limjoco said during Unboxed, the Zing Rewards launch on August 1.

Limjoco added that while such programs are quite popular in Western countries, they are still in the early stages in the Philippines, where loyalty cards are usually specific to individual stores. “Many merchants have their own loyalty cards, but for the consumer, they are not really emotionally attached to a certain card. It’s just there. Sometimes they miss out on the presence of that card, but it has limited use,” said Limjoco, noting that Zing is convenient, since it can be used for multiple stores.

Another unique feature is purchase and wallet protection, provided by insurance company AIG. A cardholder’s purchase is insured for 30 days from purchase, up to P20,000. “If you’re a cardholder and you lose your wallet, we pay for it,” Limjoco said.

“We believe that Zing is an amazing product. Zing is something that will delight a lot of consumers, and in the past, there’s not much excitement about having a loyalty card. We would want to step up a bit more by creating experiences that will delight cardholders to encourage them to go back and use their card even more,” Limjoco concluded.

The launch featured Filipino magician and mentalist Erik Mana, who delighted the crowd with some of his tricks. Guests were also given their own Zing Rewards cards, and were able to earn points by simply swiping their cards.

Points are earned at Zing Rewards merchant partners, and can be used for exclusive deals online. Points can also be converted to cash (one point is equivalent to one peso) which can be transferred to an existing bank account. Cardholders can also increase their points by sharing Zing Rewards with their friends.

As of the launch date, Zing Rewards listed around 100 merchant partners. Limjoco said the goal was to expand to 500 merchant partners by the end of 2014.
