MAKATI – After 11 memorable years with TBWA\SMP, Jake Tesoro has resigned from his post as one of the agency’s most prolific creative directors.
Effective February 2015, Jake will begin his stint as creative director at Ace Saatchi and Saatchi — the same agency where he started his career as an art director.
He leaves behind an extensive portfolio that includes award-winning work for Boysen Paints and much talked about campaigns for Mister Donut, to name a few.
“Except for his short stint at JWT Shanghai in 2000, Jake practically grew up in the industry with Jimmy and me. Jimmy took him in from college to Saatchi and I’ve worked with him on memorable campaigns and pitches since then. So it doesn’t come as a surprise that Jake decided to explore a world outside TBWA. Everyone in the office is sad to see him go because ‘Tito’ Jake as he is fondly called, is not only fun to work with but a great talent as well. We are sending him off with only good thoughts and best wishes.”, TBWA\SMP managing partner and chief creative officer Melvin Mangada said.
Meanwhile, Ace Saatchi & Saatchi chief operating officer Mio Chongson said: “Jake brings with him the wisdom and maturity from his well-accomplished career, and the creative standard that’s aligned with our agency. We are all excited to have Jake and Angie Tijam who recently joined us, as these two join Andrew Petch, Greg Martin, Deng Tee, and Jordan Santos in leading our creative teams. To our balikbayan, Jake, welcome back to Saatchi House!”
