Bates141 Philippines has promoted Joey Ong to Executive Creative Director, within six months of his joining.
Joey came in #6 in last year’s adobo creative ranking, and is among Media magazine’s Top 100 in the region. His Greenpeace "Trees" poster has been awarded at D&AD, Cannes, Clio, One Show, Spikes and Adfest, where it won the country’s first Gold. Prior to joining Bates141, Joey worked at sister company OgilvyAction, JWT (where he created "Trees" with Dave Ferrer) and JimenezBasic.
Of his young ECD, Bates141 head Peter Sandor says, "Since joining us, Joey’s contributions for Dell "Graffiti" and our WWF Jeepney campaign have been outstanding. He is raising our creative reputation and leads by example by creating great work, and all our clients and employees love working with him."
The latest example of this, of course, would be Bates141’s Kidlat awards: a Bronze for a Kotex activation, and one of only five Golds awarded overall. The latter entry was an embossed flyer for Woman Today Asia, awarded in the Diwa (Others) category.
