AKLAN — Kidlat Awards is an annual creative competition held by the 4As Philippines’ Creative Guild to recognize the country’s best and most creative works of the previous year.
The competition is open to all marketing media and communications companies or affiliates–4As agencies, non-4As agencies, digital agencies, media agencies, production houses, independent entities, broadcast networks, publications, etc.
This year Kidlat is back to Boracay and is happening from March 5-7.
The is jury composed of the biggest names in the industry including Y&R Malaysia ECD Gigi Lee, Publicis JimenezBasic ECD Brandie Tan, Dentsu Philippines ECD Rey Tiempo, Ogilvy Manila Group ECD Richmond Walker, Leo Burnett Group Manila Chief Creative Officer Raoul Panes, IDEAXMACHINA (IXM) CEO and Chief Creative Engineer Third Domingo, JWT Manila ECD Dave Ferrer, BBDO Guerrero Creative Chairman David Guerrero, ABS-CBN Chief Digital Officer Donald Lim and headed by Lowe Philippines President and Chief Creative Officer Leigh Reyes.
Apart from the awarding, the Kidlat Innovative Week will also be featuring KIDLATalks by some of the ECDs from various award-winning agencies starting off with DDB Sydney Regional Creative Director Andy Fackrell, BBDO Guerrero Chairman and Chief Creative Officer David Guerrero and DM9JaymeSyfu Chairmom and Chief Creative Officer Merlee Jayme. Other speakers include ABS-CBN Chief Digital Officer Donald Lim, Google Philippines Country Manager Ryan Morales and MyShelter Foundation Executive Director Illac Diaz.
A group of young creatives (under 30 years old) will also be competing against each other for a chance to represent the Philippines in Cannes Lions and Spikes. The young creatives will be given a brief and 24 hours to work on a presentation.
Meanwhile, three agencies, FCB Manila, Leo Burnett and Publicis Jimenezbasic vying to win the E.Zobel Diwa Awards and a $10,000 pot money. They will be presenting their ideas to Ms. Dedes Zobel herself and members of the jury.
All the winners will be announced on March 7.
