February 27, one of Boracay’s more popular resorts, Sea Wind, plays host to the Creative Guild of the Philippines’ creative summit.
First activity for the day is a talk targeting today’s young creatives. Meant to inspire and keep their passions burning, the talk will be facilitated by Creative Guild President, Merlee Jayme (managing partner/chief creative officer of DM9 JaymeSyfu) and the organization’s incumbent secretary, Third Domingo (creative director at JimenezBasic). A guest speaker will be on hand for an anti-corruption talk.
Judging will commence on the second day, February 28. Co-Chairmen for Competition David Guerrero, chairman/chief creative officer of BBDO GO; and Jake Tesoro, creative director at TBWASMP, will take local and regional judges through the entries. Stellar jury members Rowan Chanen and Thirasak Tanapatanakul though, will not be able to grace the occasion due to unforeseen incidents.
Creative hotshots make up the jury, namely: Raul Castro, chief creative officer of Mc Cann Worldgroup Philippines; Steve Clay, ECD of Lowe Philippines; Don Sevilla, ECD of JimenezBasic Advertising; Eugene Demata, ECD of DM9JaymeSyfu; Joel Limchoc, creative director/head for art direction of BBDO GO; Richard Irvine, chief creative officer of the Leo Group, Manila; and David Ferrer, ECD of JWT.
Creative delegates are expected to arrive on the same day to view the One Show Exhibit which is slated to open on the same day. This eventful day will also see the election of a new board for the Creative Guild.
On February 29, the summit will culminate with the Kidlat Awards. The awards ceremony will be held on the beachfront of Sea Wind. Unlike the past award ceremonies of the Creative Guild, this one will be casual, with the audience expected to don their coolest beach wear. Everyone is in for some serious Bora-style partying right after the ceremony.
