Kidlat Awards reveals finalists

SUBIC – The Creative Guild of the Philippines tonight revealed the finalists for the 2014 Kidlat Awards.

The initial results were audited by Punongbayan & Araullo.

TBWA\SMP led with over 40 finalist entries, among them their Cannes-winning campaigns such as Boysen ‘Tree Lungs’ for Pacific Paints Philippines their Cannes-winning Nuvali Koi Fish Feed Invite for Ayala Land.

Leo Burnett Manila also ranked high on the finalist list, with 20 finalists, including Red Cross ‘Aid Couture’ for Procter & Gamble, WWF Earth Hour ‘Nightlife’ for WWF Philippines, and Virgin Labfest’Silent Room’ for the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

Meanwhile, BBDO Guerrero claimed 17 finalists entries, with their Pantene ‘Labels Against Women’ campaign for Procter and Gamble making it along with their own ‘Unselfie’ campaign.

Ace Saatchi & Saatchi’s previous AdFest winner, Cebuana Lhuillier’s ‘Re-meet’ also made the shortlist, along with its Cannes-winning ‘Screen-age Love Story’ for PLDT MyDSL.

Other agencies with finalist entries include Campaigns & Grey, JWT Manila, Blackpencil Manila, Lowe, Havas Worldwide Manila, McCann Worldgroup, Y&R Philippines, Publicis JimenezBasic, DDB Philippines, Ideas x Machina, Ogilvy & Mather, Publicis Manila, and DM9 JaymeSyfu–whose Cannes Grand Prix winner, Smart ‘TXTBKS’ was named finalist in several categories.

Production houses also made their appearance on the list of finalists, mostly in the Film and Film Craft categories. Included are Straight Shooters Media, 88Storey Films, FilmPabrika, Underground Logic, and Hit Productions. The DLS-CSB Center for Institutional Communications also made it to the list, with one finalist entry.

The 7th Kidlat Awards is the culminating event of the first Ad Summit Pilipinas. It will be held on May 10 at the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center.
