BANGALORE – Digital ad agencyKomli Media has launched RevX, a new company focusing on online remarketing, which has hit the ground running with $4 million in funding.
RevX will be headed by Mukesh Agarwal and Ruksh Chatterji as CEO and COO roles, respectively. Agarwal has been with RevX for the past 3 years and will be responsible for the overall business strategy, product and technology. Chatterji, who previously managed Komli’s India business, is now in-charge of overall business operations.
Conceived and incubated by Komli Media, RevX will offer mobile, display and Facebook remarketing. Among its key technologies are its own predictive engine, recommendation engine and a real-time, scalable architecture powered by industry leading technologies such as Hadoop, Vertica, Aerospike, and Kafka.
The $4 million funding came from Komli’s existing investors – Norwest, Nexus, Helion, DFJ, and Peepul Capital.
“Marketers are spending a lot of money on driving mobile app installs, but user engagement and retention continues to remain a major challenge. An average consumer can have only so many apps on the smartphones, and marketers run the risk of high churn if they don’t reinforce the value of their app post-install and build the engagement. Our goal is to offer innovative products to help marketers solve the user retention and engagement problem.” said Agarwal.
Chatterji stressed the important of transparency: “We believe the arbitrage game played by our competitors is going to be short-lived, as marketers seek greater transparency in terms of where their money is being spent, at what price media is actually being bought and the business outcomes such campaigns are delivering.”
The launch of RevX came in a month after Telecommunication giant Axiata Group bought the Southeast Asian operations of Komli Media for $11.25 million.
