The contract signing was laid-back, the calm before the busy and accomplished road ahead. It was Lakihan Mo Logo at its most candid state. With a few boxes of pizza on the table, a few drinks, and a room filled with people that simply shared the love for music. The place was livened up with the album playing in the background.
To open the signing, Herbert Hernandez, Founder of Lakihan Mo Logo, Executive Creative Director of Y&R Philippines, and guitarist for Moonstar88 and 6CycleMind, shared a few of his sentiments regarding the upcoming release of the album. He talked about the history of Lakihan Mo Logo and its creation 7 years ago. They also explained the name of the group. Which in advertising agencies, it’s quite a common thing for clients to ask for a bigger logo for product placements. He then went on to thank everyone for their hard work in making the album happen. “Salamat sa pagtulong sa’min i-immortalize ang Lakihan Mo Logo. Kasi darating yung araw, wala na kami pero andito pa ‘to,” Herbert expressed.
The contract binds them with Warner Music for 3 years. The plan is to release all 11 songs as singles next year to give them a time each in the spotlight.
He also extended his gratitude to Hit Productions for sponsoring all their recording sessions and adobo magazine for continuing to support them since the beginning.
As Herbert closed his short pep talk, he said, “We’re representing the creative industry. This will help prove na kahit may day job tayo, we can still do our passion on the side.”
As a nudge to their truest roots, there will be a bar tour to promote the album all throughout 2017.
In a Facebook live done in our adobo magazine Facebook page, Herbert said that he Is over the roof for everyone part of the album even if he isn’t a part of it.
“Para sa mga young creatives na papasok pa lang sa ahensiya. Masaya ang advertising!” – Herbert Hernandez
Their first single “May Opening ba D’yan?” is set to come out third week of January 2017.
