MANILA – Reaffirming its mission to support the growth of Filipino micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), Lazada Philippines, the country’s leading one-stop online shopping and selling destination, joins the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in its MSME Week 2018 activities.

On July 10, 2018, Lazada Philippines CEO Ray Alimurung joined a panel of business experts at the National MSME Summit in Clark, Pampanga, advising MSMEs on how to seize market opportunities. Highlighting Lazada’s nationwide reach as a major advantage for any Filipino entrepreneur, he encouraged the audience to maximize local opportunities and address needs of the Filipino consumers.

“When we talk about markets, we tend to think of tapping the global market immediately,” Alimurung said. “The challenge is, are we properly tapping the Philippine market? My suggestion is to focus first on trying to sell to the whole Philippines, which we enable through a platform like Lazada,” he further shared.

Lazada also partnered with the DTI’s Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC) for the MSME Development Week learning series on e-Commerce on July 12, 2018, where company experts facilitated sessions on setting up an online business, branding on the web, and understanding customers. One-on-one business coaching was also made available to aspiring online sellers.

With thousands of MSMEs now selling on its platform, Lazada is the Philippines’ largest online marketplace, helping businesses reach millions of customers nationwide. Interested parties may visit https://sellercenter.lazada.com.ph/ to learn more on how to become a Lazada seller.
