In an interview with Jake Tesoro, Creative Director at Ace Saatchi & Saatchi and this year’s chairman of the Creative Guild of the Philippines, the jury will be adopting the same brand over medium approach in dividing the categories. This approach, which was the first-of-its-kind in the world, was first implemented last year to make the show more relevant to the clients. Entries were categorized and judged based on the products being advertised instead of the medium used (TV, Print, Digital, etc.).

“Since it was just last year that the Kidlat Awards went into brand versus medium, maybe it’s too premature if we let go of it immediately, “ said Tesoro. “It’s honest, it’s now and it’s really how we work and compete – against each other.”

As usual, Kidlat Awards will be giving out special awards to the Agency of the Year, Advertiser of the Year, and Production House of the Year. This year’s Hall of Fame awardee and Lifetime Achievement awardee will also be named during the Kidlat Awards ceremony.

The Kidlat Awards will be held on March 12, culminating the Ad Summit Pilipinas 2016 in Subic which will kick off on March 10. Registration starts on March 9.
