Lolo masters the art of the selfie in new McDonald’s ad by Leo Burnett

MANILA – Lola Techie may have met her match in the monopod-wielding lolo who stars in the latest ad by Leo Burnett Manila to promote McDonald’s Everyday McSavers.

In the ad, two old men talk about their recent 2K run, when their friend Gusting walks in carrying what looks like a cane. As the runners poke fun at him for having arthritis, Gusting reveals that the stick is a monopod after all, and uses it to take a selfie with his stunned friends, attracting the pretty elderly woman in the next table.

The ad was published on the official McDonald’s Philippines YouTube channel on July 28.

The ad is not the first appearance of Gusting, who also starred in another ad for Everyday McSavers in 2011. In the earlier ad, Gusting and another elderly friend made fun of the old-fashioned ways of the young folks around them.
