MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Get ready to savor the flavors of Filipino heritage as the Filipino Food Month (FFM) or Buwan ng Kalutong Filipino 2025 kicks off this April. This year’s celebration, themed “Sarap ng Pagkaing Pilipino, Yaman ng Ating Kasaysayan, Kultura, at Pagkatao,” puts a spotlight on local agricultural produce as the heart and soul of Filipino cuisine.

With the goal of championing Filipino culinary traditions, FFM 2025 is set to immerse the nation in a vibrant celebration of food, culture, and heritage. A brainchild of Presidential Proclamation No. 469, Filipino Food Month not only celebrates the country’s unique flavors but also fosters pride in its diverse regional dishes and innovative food culture that’s gaining global recognition.

To jumpstart the festivities, the official media launch took place on March 21, 2025, at the Manila Prince Hotel in Ermita. Leaders from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Tourism (DOT), and the Philippine Culinary Heritage Movement (PCHM) gathered to renew their commitment to promoting Filipino cuisine.

During the press conference, NCCA Deputy Executive Director Bernan Joseph Corpuz emphasized the importance of both tradition and innovation in Filipino cuisine:

“As we celebrate Filipino Food Month, we honor the traditions passed down through generations while also recognizing the creativity of our chefs and home cooks who continue to elevate our food scene. This year, we are proud to showcase not only the flavors but also the people behind our dishes—our farmers, fisherfolk, and artisans whose dedication and passion make our food extraordinary.”

This year’s celebration promises an exciting lineup of activities nationwide, beginning with the Nationwide Kick-off Celebration at the Quezon Provincial Capitol Grounds on April 3, followed by the official opening at the DA Central Office and Mines Elementary School in Quezon City on April 7.
