To top it off, he did the AdBoard a huge favor, he donated all of his prize money for the implementation of its organizational programs. In an impressive feat for someone who had to shuttle to and from ABS-CBN, Marci came up with all the right answers at the right time, each time. He was the only seasoned ad man to make it to the next round. Apparently, the agency twenty-somethings were too smart—or too quick for their older competitors, as their reflexes enabled them to reach the “light sensors” first. Dar Barba, showed some apprehension in taking on Marci, perhaps afraid that a future job applicationmay never advance, or to borrow the game show terminology, “hindi aabante.”) Or maybe, his showbizzy family background allowed him to be more comfortable in front of the cameras? On Day 2, Marci beat his two challengers by remembering more Jack Nicholson blockbusters effortlessly. Unfortunately, his second chance at a million was not realized. His winning streak ended on Day 3 when he faced professional basketball players from the PBA. Being athletes, it wasn’t surprising that they knew more about the category: MVPs who made it to the NBA finals.
