New Marvel EIC C.B. Cebulski encourages Filipino talents at Marvel Creative Day Out 2018

MANILA – On its second year in the Philippines, the award-winning Marvel Creative Day Out successfully gathered almost 500 attendees – from art and design students, interest groups, companies, and media outlets – who celebrated their creativity and love for Marvel at the School of Design and Arts, De La Salle University-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB.)

Guests were able to get close to their beloved Marvel universe with the newly minted Marvel editor-in-chief C.B. Cebulski’s talk on the brand’s plans. Marvel artists Leinil Yu and Harvey Tolibao also delivered a series of talks on their creative processes and experiences on working with Marvel. All of them also dedicated time to review the creative works of eager participants and budding artists. For this year, the event received 125 artwork submissions, which were exhibited during the event.

This year also brought fashion and product designs for the first time through inviting The Walt Disney Company of Greater China Vice President, Creative, Allen Au-Yeung who conducted a special design workshop with DLS-CSB’s fashion design and merchandising students.

Marvel artists Leinil Yu and Harvey Tolibao complete the Freedom Wall with their final sketches.

Moreover, the guests also worked with Marvel artists, Cebulski, and Au-Yeung in decorating up a blank Freedom Wall with their sketches. A Sketch Off Game also challenged participants to draw their Marvel characters with Marvel representatives as coaches.
