The Philippine Association of National Advertisers (PANA) has once again awarded campaigns and agencies for their game-changing and innovative strategies. This year’s PANAta Awards, PANA’s annual recognition awarding, comes with a refreshed new identity. Aside from focusing on the creativity of a project, the PANAta Awards gives weight to the project’s business results. Compared to other ad and marketing awards, PANAta emphasizes not only the campaign itself but also the people behind these projects who do responsible branding.
After 10 years of giving recognition to brands and the people and organizations behind them, PANA is now on its 11th year of giving awards in categories such as Internal Communications, Marketing Innovation, Customer Empowerment, and Brand Positioning to name a few.
While there are multiple winners in the categories offered by the PANAta Awards 2019, the Grand PANAta Award was given to Levi’s “Get Personal” campaign. Chito Maniago, the PANA president, referred to the Grand PANAta Awards as the “Oscars” of the advertising and marketing industry.
In Levi’s “Get Personal” ad, a father goes to a Levi’s Tailor Shop to have a denim jacket customized. We see the father directing the Levi’s employee to sew beads in a seemingly random pattern. It is only when the father goes home and gives the jacket to his son for Christmas that it is revealed that the beads formed a message in braille: “Anywhere you go, I’ll always be there -Papa”
Aside from the Grand PANAta Award, the complete list of winners and their corresponding categories are as follows:
