MANILA – Issue #62 of adobo magazine celebrates a milestone for the word on creativity. Having achieved a decade in print and its subsequent online and digital incarnations, the March-April 2016 issue chronicles founder, publisher, and editor-in-chief Angel Guerrero’s journey from her home office, to her active participation in various industry events and festivals to achieve.
Founding editor Cynthia Dayco guest edits, lending her sharp memory and insight into the anniversary issue; and Dave Ferrer of J. Walter Thompson contributes his keen eye and the anniversary logo—which combines passion and ten years into something else: PASS10N.
The commemorative issue talks about memorable campaigns from the past years, how Philippine advertising and its practitioners have claimed a spotlight on the world stage, and how the talents nurtured and/or encouraged by the magazine have since flourished and given back to the industry.
Further highlighting the issue’s significance, various interpretations of the magazine’s anniversary theme are also given shape or form by artists and advertising practitioners like Cynthia Arre, Tepai Pascual, Pete Jimenez, Patrick Cabral, Thomas Yang, Suthisak Sucharitanonta, Dan Matutina, Rob Cham, Erick Rosa, Leigh Reyes, and Team Manila Design Studio.
As Ms. Guerrero says in her editor’s note: “This special edition celebrates various industry achievements and milestones. Chronicling creative disruptions, the shift to craft campaigns for a positive change, the move from silos to collaborations—it’s a celebration of ten years of creativity in the world as we knew it.”
