Surveys from independent firms AC Nielsen and Synovate have named the Philippine Daily Inquirer (PDI) No. 1 in readership for both Metro Manila and nationwide, as well as across economic classes.
According to the Nielsen Media Index for the third quarter, 49% of respondents named the Inquirer as the broadsheet they had read the day before, with Phil. Star in second place (38%) and Manila Bulletin third (34%). The total exceeds 100% because some of the 6,000 respondents read two or more broadsheets.
Meanwhile, Synovate’s Media Atlas also shows PDI as the daily paper of choice for 44% of those who read English dailies in urban areas nationwide.
These results were released by PDI; adobo awaits the response from the Philippine Star.
