MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Publicis Media Philippines announced the appointment of Rommel Pentinio as Starcom Philippines general manager effective July 1, 2020.
Pentinio started his media career at Starcom in 2002. He moved to UK in 2011, and returns to the Philippines to assume his new role after an almost 10-year absence in the local media scene. With a career spanning 18 years, he was most recently the EMEA Operations Director on HP and Global Market Engagement Director on Volkswagen for PHD Global Business.
“Rommel has a wealth of experience working in both local and international media across regions, countries and brands. His expertise in developing media strategies across a wide array of industries and his proven leadership are certainly a significant boost to Starcom.” Jay Lim, head of Publicis Media Philippines, said.

The Philippines’ media landscape is evolving at a rapid pace and I can’t wait to get properly stuck in to continue the evolution of Starcom Philippines.” Pentinio said.
“It’s a bit strange starting something new when you can’t meet the team face-to-face, but I think the current situation makes the job more exciting and fulfilling. I am looking forward to being ‘closer’ with our teams, business, and media partners despite the physical distance. And of course, I want to bring London’s drinks trolley when we go back to the office,”he added.
His global exposure in handling international clients such as GSK, Unilever, Shell and Nestle, in addition to his vast experience in managing media campaigns for a diverse mix of clients notably in the FMCG category bolsters Starcom’s current strength in consistently bringing clients’ business to thrive.
He has a BA in Communication Research from the University of the Philippines – Diliman. Outside of media, he also facilitates LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® workshops.
