MANILA – Brand-builder Pepe Torres is coming back to Manila. He has left his post as regional brand marketing manager for Asia Pacific at Airbnb after two years on the job. Torres now assumes the role of Vice President – Head of Strategic Marketing for BDO. The challenge placed before him will be defining and driving what it takes for BDO to be the number one bank for the next generation of Filipinos.

Torres built the foundation of his career in P&G where he took on a diverse range of brand management roles from local to global and across mass and luxury categories. While there, he led multiple business-building and award-winning campaigns including the Pantene “Labels Against Women” campaign which originated in the Philippines but was rolled out globally because of overwhelming viral response.

He moved to Airbnb, the Silicon Valley company reinventing travel and hospitality, in December 2014 where he took on marketing and leadership roles for Asia Pacific and saw the future of purpose-driven brand-building while based in Singapore.

“Airbnb was a roller-coaster learning experience and it was thrilling to work for one of the best marketing leaders in the world in Jonathan Mildenhall, adapt to a technology-driven hyper-growth environment and be part of an amazing mission that other like-minded people truly believe in,” Torres shared with adobo.

Torres went on to add: “But I’m extremely excited to move back and join BDO. The leadership team has an inspiring mission for the Philippines, which is much closer to my heart, and recognizes that strategic marketing and innovation is critical in bringing this mission to life.”

“I look forward to bringing back the best of what I’ve learned, helping BDO continue to be the #1 bank for the next generation of Filipinos and inspiring world-class brand building in the Philippines,” he concludes.
