MANILA – Five government offices have posted 3,320 vacancies online in an attempt to reach and entice more young Filipinos to join the civil service.
A statement from the Department of Finance (DOF) said they, along with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Department of Budget and Management (DBM), Department of Transportation (DOT) and Communication (DOTC), and the Department of Tourism (DOT) posted the vacancies on Kalibrr.com, an online jobs matching site launched back in 2012.
Co-founded by Paul Rivera, Kalibrr initially started as an online training program for the BPO industry before it was expanded to a job-matching platform. It is backed by Globe Telecom’s Kickstart Ventures, eBay’s Pierre Omidyar, Nix Nolledo of Xurpas Inc. and Silicon Valley-based Y Combinator.
The job hunt was also done in partnership with the Bagumbayani Initiative, a program by Young Public Servants (YPS) that aims sustainably recruit young people into the civil service.
“Your country needs you. We hope that you respond to this call to service, ” DOF Sec. Cesar Purisima said, calling out to young Filipinos.
Of the 3,320 vacancies, 3,211 entry-level positions are from the BIR, 41 positions from the DOF, 31 positions from the DBM, 33 positions from the DOTC, and 4 positions from the DOT.
