Australia leads Asia-Pacific finalists at 2014 New York Festivals

ASIA-PACIFIC – Australia emerged as the country with the most finalists in Asia-Pacific at the 2014 New York Festivals World’s Best Advertising awards.

Australia leads the regional tally with 132 finalists across every category except for Student, with entries in Avant-Garde, Branded Entertainment, Creative Marketing Effectiveness, Design, Digital, Direct & Collateral, FIlm, Integrated, Outdoor, Print, Public & Media Relations, Public Service Announcements, and Radio.

Finalists include entries from Clemenger BBDO, Leo Burnett, McCann, VML, VML GPY&R, Lavender Communications Group, Ogilvy Group, BMF, M&C Saatchi, Re, Arnold Furnace, Finch, Whybin\TBWA, cummins&partners, Airbag Productions, Alt.vfx, Blackbird, Proximity Brisbane, DDB Group Melbourne, Exit Films, Moth Projects, Revolver, Will O Rourke, SHEDcsc, Australian Radio Network, Host Sydney, and The Glue Society.

Trailing behind Australia is Japan, with 43 finalists from Hakuhodo, Dentsu, TBWA\Hakuhodo, YOMIKO Advertising, DAIKO Advertising, Shiseido, beacon communications k.k., Hakuhodo Kettle, ADK, and Ogilvy & Mather Japan.

United Arab Emirates follows the Asia-Pacific tally, with 32 finalists from Memac Ogilvy & Mather, FP7/DXB, and IMPACT BBDO Dubai.

South Korea emerged with 22 finalists from Innocean, PostVisual.com, INNORED, and KREMA Worldwide, as well as student category entries from Chungang University, Dongduk Women’s University, and Hongik University.

Singapore counts 19 finalists from TequilaSingapore, TBWA\Singapore, and BBDO Singapore, while New Zealand counts 17 finalists from Clemenger BBDO, Colenso BBDO/ Proximity New Zealand, MediaWorks Radio, and Curious Film.

The Philippines has a total of 14 finalists, with entries from Dm9JaymeSyfu, TBWA\SMP, McCann Worldgroup, and Campaigns and Grey making the cut.

China counts 10 finalists, which include entries from FRED & FARID SHANGHAI, Publicis, J. Walter Thompson, Lowe China, and Y&R Beijing.
Hong Kong’s nine finalists come from Ogilvy Hong Kong, McCann Worldgroup, and DDB Group Hong Kong.

Malaysia has six finalists, including entries from Alpha245, Creative Juice Kuala Lumpur, TBWA\Malaysia. 

India has three finalists, represented by entries from CRAYONS ADVERTISING, Out of the Box, Chrome Pictures Private Limited. Thailand and Israel also have three finalists each,  from Dentsu Thailand, and ACW GREY ISRAEL and Y&R respectively.

Taiwan’s two finalists were entered by Havas Worldwide Taiwan, while Indonesia’s sole finalist is an entry from The Campaign Palace.
