Posterscope, TBWA shows off first anamorphic ad in PH for Adidas.

MANILA – Posterscope has just shared pictures of a mind-blowing outdoor ad for adidas Philippines using anamorphic visual optical illusions.

Postercope and TBWA/SMP carefully laid out colorful silhouettes of the Adidas Superstar on uneven terrain like stairs and walkways. The shoe is practically invisible but look at it at an angle, marked by the “Superstar spot” not far from the installation, and the images magically align to form the ad.

Posterscope claims this is the first anamorphic advertising display in the Philippines and its no wonder. It takes a lot of planning to make something like this and so far only a handful of brands had success. 

The latest of them is Apple last year with the aptly named “Perspective” online spot. Below is the 2 minute clip showing an admittedly more complicated execution of the visual trick. Other global brands that launched similar campaigns is Rayban and Honda in 2013.
