MANILA – The Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) announced today the call for entries to the 2014 Anvil Awards.
The Anvil Awards, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary next year, has rewarded the achievements of the country’s top public relations and communications practitioners. It is given to public relations programs and tools that reflect exemplary professional skill, creativity, resourcefulness and sensitive awareness of the target audience. Entries are judged on their research, planning, execution and evaluation of results, while also considering factors such as creativity, ethics and budget.
PRSP president Ramon R. Osorio and Anvil Awards Gold chairman and PRSP director Edwin P. Galvez in a joint statement said, “The Anvil Awards Gold will be our profession’s most distinguished awards that will recognize the role of public relations as an integral part of business and organizational success.”
Through the years, the Anvil has promoted adherence to the highest standards and excellence in PR practice. Previous recipients of the Anvil include some of the country’s largest multinational and local companies and organizations
Entries to the Anvil Awards may be submitted beginning October 1, 2014 until November 15, 2014, with the early bird deadline on October 31. Public relations programs or tools launched or implemented between September 1, 2013 and September 20, 2014 are qualified to enter.
New award names
Since its inception in 1965, the Anvil Awards has grown in scope and stature, now encompassing two categories and six sub-categories covering public relations programs and tools.
This year, the awards have been given new names for better distinction among the various award levels. These are the Silver Anvil, the Gold Anvil, the Platinum Anvil and the Grand Anvil awards, which were previously known as the Anvil Award of Merit, Anvil Award of Excellence, Bronze Anvil Award and the Grand Anvil Award, respectively.
As part of the Anvil Awards’ golden anniversary commemoration, the PRSP will also publish next year a compendium of case studies of public relations programs that have entered the Anvil Hall of Fame by winning the Anvil Excellence Award for five times.
How to win an Anvil
To help interested parties learn how to prepare entries that will win the judges’ nod, the PRSP will conduct seminars on ‘How to create an Anvil-winning entry’ on September 12 and 19 and October 3, 2014 at 9:00am-11:00 pm, GMA Network Center to be conducted by some of the Anvil winners themselves. Seminar fee is Php 500 per person for non-PRSP members. Seats are limited to 25 on a first come, first served basis.
