MANILA – Samsung Electronics Philippines revealed their latest innovation in smartphone technology at the Samsung Hall in SM Aura Premiere: the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. Also part of the launch is a sneak peek of Gear S2 smartwatch in platinum and rose gold finish, and the Gear VR.

Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge defy mobile phone limitations. Through its IP68 certification feature, the new Samsung Gakaxy can withstand being submerged under water. Apart from being water-resistant, Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge phones are cap-less and dust-resistant.

It has also set a new benchmark for smartphone photography. Dual photodiode technology, the same feature available in professional DSLR cameras, was built into a smartphone for the very first time–producing crisp, strikingly clear photos. Memory starts from 32GB and is expandable up to 200GB. S7 also has improved battery life with 300mAH battery while the Galaxy S7 Edge has a 3600 mAH. Both support Ultra Fast Charging as well as built-in wireless charging.

Samsung also introduced Gear VR, its version of a virtual reality headset to the Philippine market. With its accelerometer and gyroscope, the Gear VR promises a 360-degree immersive viewing and gaming experience.

Aside from the Gear VR, Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge can also seamlessly connect with Gear S2, which is perfect for people who are always on the go.
