MANILA – It’s no secret that a lot of friendships and probably even relationships were hurt, or worse, destroyed during the election season. Everyone had their own presidential and vice presidential bets and were very passionate in defending their choice through Facebook statuses, tweets or Instagram posts.
Some opposing supporters failed to settle their differences through a calm exchange on the Facebook comments section or a civilized conversation via messenger. The result, some users opted to either unfollow a user’s posts or completely unfriend the person they had trifled with.
But now that the elections are over, Smart Communications, Inc. would like to help its subscribers mend broken friendships by sharing internet data to turn foes back to old friends.
In this lighthearted film, Smart features two men talking over Facebook messenger, apologizing for the hurtful things they’ve said to each other on social media. The other guy sends over a 100mb data to his friend who’s about to run out of fuel to continue the chat. The film naturally concludes with a teleserye reunion ending.
Since it was posted on Smart’s Facebook page on May 14, almost 10,000 people have shared the ad while more than 12,000 people have reacted to it. In the comments section, people are expressing their amusement towards the ad and how perfectly relatable and accurate it is to most of us.
So, are you ready to #ReFollow and #ReFriend?
