MANILA – Smart Communications’ multi-award winning campaign ‘TXTBKS’ by DM9JaymeSyfu has been included in the top 10 Campaigns of the 2015 Warc 100, a ranking of the world’s best marketing campaigns and companies based on their performance in effectiveness and strategy competitions.
‘TXTBKS’, which turns surplus sim cards into feature phone-readable textbooks for public school children, was very well-received in the awards circuit in 2013 and 2014, bagging a Grand CLIO, Cannes Lion Grand Prix, and a D&AD Yellow Pencil among many others.
The campaign ranked seventh in the list topped by Hindustan Unilever’s ‘Kan Khajura Tesan’ by Lowe Lintas and PHD. Dove’s global campaign ‘Real Beauty Sketches’ by Ogilvy & Mather Sao Paulo and PHD took the second spot, followed by Expedia’s ‘Travel Yourself Interesting’ by Ogilvy & Mather London and Lifebuoy’s ‘Help a Child Reach 5’ campaign by Lowe Lintas.
Pantene’s ‘Beautiful Hair, Whatever the Weather’ by Leo Burnett/Arc and Starcom MediaVest rounded out the top five, followed by the Brazilian Association of Organ Transplants’ ‘Bentley Burial’ by Leo Burnett Tailor Made.
Mercedes-Benz’s ‘#YouDrive’ by AMV BBDO followed ‘TXTBOOKS’ in the eighth spot, followed by Hornbach’s ‘The Hornbach Hammer’ by HEIMAT Berlin and Virgin Mobile’s ‘Fair Go Bro’ by Havas Worldwide Sydney/ One Green Bean rounding out the top ten.

In compiling the 2015 rankings, Warc tracked more than 2,200 winning campaigns from 87 different competitions. Points were assigned based on the awards won (Gold, Silver or Bronze), then weighted based on the competition’s rigor and prestige in the global industry.
