The short film was posted on August 15 at the official Facebook page of Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral.
Angelito begins on the morning of Gen. Antonio Luna’s death. The 20-minute movie follows the story of two of Gen. Luna’s most trusted men, Jose and Manuel Bernal, as they flee for safety in the wake of Luna’s brutal assassination. Shown through the eyes of their youngest brother Angel Bernal, director Jerrold Tarog shares that this story is a fictional tale loosely inspired by real historical events.
Angelito was first released in the theaters in 2017 with TBA Studios’ romantic comedy I’m Drunk, I Love You. With the online release of Angelito, moviegoers will hopefully gain a better understanding of ‘Goyo’ before they see the film on September 5.
Alex Medina and Art Acuña, who play Jose and Manuel Bernal respectively, reprise their roles from Heneral Luna. Another central character from Heneral Luna, Arron Villaflor’s Joven Hernando, is also in Angelito. Newcomer Tomas Santos plays Angelito.
Carlo Aquino, Rafa Siguion-Reyna, and Jojit Lorenzo round up the cast of Angelito. You can catch more of them in Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral.
Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral stars Paulo Avelino in the titular role. Produced by TBA Studios, Artikulo Uno Productions and Globe Studios, the film will open in cinemas nationwide on September 5.
