MANILA – TJ Manotoc will look back at the momentous championships and memorable athletic performances that made 2016 a memorable year in sports on “The Score 2016 Year Ender” this New Year’s Eve, 7pm on ABS-CBN Sports + Action (S+A).

The anchor of daily sports newscast “The Score” will rundown the highlights in basketball, volleyball, combat sports, and the Olympics in the past year, together with guest analysts, who will also share their insights and predictions on what 2017 has in store for the world of sports.

Manotoc will relive the greatest moments in college basketball this year featuring the redemption tour of the San Beda Red Lions in NCAA, and the title run of the De La Salle University Green Archers in the UAAP with panelists Marco Benitez, Migs Bustos, and Bea Daez.

The group will also talk about ABS-CBN Sport’s newest acquisition, the ASEAN Basketball League, before the spotlight shifts to the biggest events in the NBA, including the 52-year old championship drought broken by the Cleveland Cavaliers. After this, Ronnie Magsanoc, Christian Luanzon, and Enzo Flojo will tackle the chances of former Ateneo King Eagle Kiefer Ravena and Creighton Blue Jay Kobe Paras to make it to the most popular, and biggest, basketball league in the world.

2016 was also a banner year for volleyball and former UAAP volleyball stars Carmela Tunay, Michele Gumabao, and AJ Pareja will be there to talk about the progress of volleyball in the land, the heated competition in the UAAP and NCAA, as well as in the Shakey’s V-League and Beach Volleyball Republic.

Meanwhile, Anton Roxas, Dennis Principe, and Theo Castillo will also join the panel to speak on the Filipino mixed martial arts wave in 2016. ONE Championship Lightweight titlist Eduard Folayang finally broke through as Brandon Vera continued to dominate the heavyweight division. Not to be missed is Sen. Manny Pacquiao’s triumphant return to the ring and Donnie “Ahas” Nietes’ continued dominance of his weight class, as the main man of the ALA Boxing Gym stable.

Finally, Reuben Terrado, Bob Guerrero, and Abac Cordero will talk about the recent Olympics, where the Philippines snatched a Silver Medal thanks to the incredible performance of Hidilyn Diaz in the weightlifting discipline, breaking a 20-year medal drought. Also included are discussions on the Azkals’ campaign in the Suzuki Cup, the Chicago Cubs’ win in the World Series, and Andy Murray’s rise to the World number 1 ranking in Tennis.
