MANILA – On the week of June 6, 2016, Goldilocks came out with several billboards strewn across the metro for its 50th Anniversary. But these billboards had netizens talking because of its unusual execution: there’s a gaping hole right in the middle of the billboard, where the Goldilocks cake should be.
Immediately, social media were abuzz with photos of the billboards with the missing Goldilocks cake, which was consequently dubbed as the #MissingGoldiCake. Ordinary people and even celebrities (like Judy Ann Santos and Edu Manzano) had posted their own photos of the billboard and had varying theories as to why the cake was missing.
Some thought that someone vandalized and damaged these billboards. Others speculated that it might be a case of ‘grand’ theft, while some jokingly wondered if there’s such a person so hungry that he or she could eat a billboard.
Goldilocks, on their Facebook page, recognized the overwhelming attention their billboards got and appealed to the netizens to help them find the missing Goldi cake.
