MANILA – TV5 President and CEO Noel C. Lorenzana has announced the appointment of Jane Basas as the First Vice-President and Head of Media5.
Basas brings with her 17 years of solid marketing experience, ranging from telecoms to media and consumer banking. Her most recent position was as Group Head / First Vice-President for the Prepaid Marketing Category of SMART Communications, Inc. where she was responsible for the market-leading brands Smart Prepaid and Talk ‘N Text. She reenergized and stabilized the performance of flagship brand Smart Prepaid while continuing to grow Talk ‘N Text to be the biggest mobile brand in the country.
“Given her professional background, I am confident that Jane will be instrumental in bringing to market the PLDT Group’s digital and mobile advertising capability,” Lorenzana said.
Before joining Smart in 2004, Jane also worked for Citibank N.A., where she launched the Citibank Clear Card VISA Mini, as well as for ABS-CBN HK, Limited, where she launched the ABS-CBN Club in 2001. Prior to this, she began her career with two telecommunications giants – Globe Telecom and Bayan Telecommunications Inc.
A licensed certified public accountant, Basas graduated from the University of the Philippines with a B.S. in Business Administration and Accountancy degree. She was also a Business Scholar in International Marketing from the National University of Singapore.
As Media5 First Vice President and Head, Basas will be overseeing the sales, revenue assurance/billing and collections, creative media solutions, creative communications and marketing endeavors of Media5.
